CEU to Infinity: The 80 Challenge
The CEU Alumni Campaign is a unique opportunity for alumni to make a direct impact on the lives of colleagues and friends inheriting the torch of CEU every year. Established in 2001, the campaign has supported more than 30 students in attaining an education of world-class competitive standard. In addition to the Alumni Scholarship program, the Campaign Annual Fund has been recently established to address the departmental, faculty and research needs of the university.
Since the year of the campaign's inception, alumni support has escalated from USD 17,000 collected in 2001 to a groundbreaking USD 32,605 in 2009.
What is The 80 Challenge?
The 2009/10 challenge marks a special year for the Alumni Campaign. Fulfilling 8 years of service to the CEU community, the campaign also celebrates the 80th birthday of the university's founder and renowned philanthropist, George Soros.
In commemoration of an extraordinary year for the CEU family, the 2009/10 Alumni Campaign proposes the 80 Challenge by setting an annual fundraising target of USD 80,000. All collected funds will be directed towards student scholarships and support for the areas of greatest need in the university.
