CEU Alumni Make a Night of It on 12 March 2010 in Prague!

On 12 March 2010, fifteen alumni filled the Himalaya Restaurant in Prague with the unmistakable CEU spirit! It was a nice opportunity for alumni to catch up with the new developments at the university, reunite with old friends and reminisce about the CEU campus in Prague and the peculiarities of student life in Budapest.

On behalf of the global CEU family, we wish to extend our heartiest thanks to the donors of the 2009/10 Alumni Campaign, The 80 Challenge, which is raising funds for student scholarships. If you were one of the generous supporters, find your name on our Honorary Donors’ List online! Do not forget also to visit our official Campaign page to check the progress and how Czech Alumni Chapter is ranking in participation rate.

At the meeting, Lucie Cviklova (SOCI ’95) was elected to represent the Czech Alumni Chapter at the upcoming Alumni Leadership Forum on May 20-21, where alumni chapter leaders will share their know-how on building alumni communities at home.

We hope that you would consider getting involved in the Czech alumni network. Whether via the Facebook group, LinkedIn, Flickr or local chapter events, your ideas and time are all needed to make your connection to CEU and your fellow alumni mutually beneficial.

Looking forward to seeing you at the Career Fair, Alumni Leadership Forum and the Reunion Gala Dinner & Ball, all in Budapest on May 21-22, 2010!

Central European University is participating in the ITE Siberian Education Fair in Novosibirsk, Russia this year, where we are hoping to attract a lot of bright students from the region to CEU for the coming academic years! (See Who is coming!)

Maria Trofimova (GENS 2001) of the CEU Recruitment team will represent the university at the fair and welcome all alumni in the region who would like to reconnect with old CEU friends and make some new ones! If you happen to be in Novosibirsk between March 10-12 (Wednesday-Thursday 10.00-17.30, Friday 10.00 -16.00), stop by the CEU Stand (#101) at the Siberian Fair (220/10, Krasny Prospekt) and share your CEU experience with prospective students. Even an hour spent at the Fair would be a great help to your friends & colleagues at CEU, and it is bound to be fun, too!

This would also be a great occasion for a CEU alumni reunion in Novosibirsk on Friday evening, 12 March 2010!
